Respite for Carers

Do you care for somebody over the age of 18 who lives in Nottingham City or Nottinghamshire County? If so you may be eligible free respite care across a 12 month period.

What they provide:
They will speak to both the person being cared for and the person who has providing care – and invite you to talk about yourselves and your situation.

They can provide respite to support unpaid carers who are caring for an adult with a range of health conditions and needs including (but not limited to) those who:

  • Are elderly or frail
  • Have a mental health condition
  • Have an issue with drugs and/or alcohol
  • Have a learning and/or physical disability
  • Have a life-limiting condition or are at any stage of a terminal illness

They can support cared-for persons from different ethnic backgrounds, cultures, and religions with culturally appropriate care.

If your cared-for person does not speak English they will try their best to match them with a respite carer who speaks their language.
